Invitation to Tender for Invitation to Tender for Phase 2 of the 21st Century Exploration Roadmap (21CXRM) for the East Shetland Platform and SW Approaches areas.
— Build auditable databases of potential source rock and migrated fluid geochemical parameters.
— Provide data that allows investigation into the uplift histories (timing and magnitude).
— Provide data that allows investigation of the thermal evolution of the candidate source rock intervals within the areas.
— Provide an integrated analysis of burial, thermal and charge histories of the areas of interest.
— Identify areas where the existence of an active petroleum system may be supported by evidence of hydrocarbon seeps.
— Identify and describe evidence for potential hydrocarbon seepage.
— Catalogue the potential seeps based on their compatibility with the geology and the potential ease of sampling (or most appropriate sampling technique).
— Identify and describe options to carry out hydrocarbon seep / slick sampling programme(s).
— Obtain samples of sea surface hydrocarbon slicks
— Perform geochemical analysis on samples to determine the provenance of the hydrocarbons.
— Type thermogenic hydrocarbons to candidate source intervals.
— Obtain samples of seabed sediments from areas most likely to contain thermogenic hydrocarbons.
— Perform geochemical analysis on hydrocarbon samples to determine the provenance of the hydrocarbons.
— Type thermogenic hydrocarbons to candidate source intervals.
— Obtain seabed temperature and heat flow measurements.
