The city of Freiberg intends to develop a new district center in the Zug district as well as to make a new building available to the Zug volunteer fire brigade.
The designated property 110/2 is located in the Zug district south of the core city of Freiberg. The property covers an area of 3,694 m
The former school complex is to become a lively district center. Different users, such as the volunteer fire brigade, Zug local council, youth club and various clubs are integrated in the old school building and receive individual areas on the different floors. The intention is to create a large common room for all users. A sanitary area should be provided on each floor. According to a variant study, the old school should remain and be rebuilt / renovated. The newer extension is to be canceled. At this point, the fire department's vehicle hall is to be built. In consideration of fire protection issues and the mentioned areas of use, a new development concept must be developed.
The building complex is developed and has connections to supply and disposal lines (electricity, drinking water, waste water, gas from public supply).
The existing green in the outside area should be preserved, if necessary further plantings should take place. The outdoor facilities, including the necessary parking spaces, will be newly created according to the building uses. There is a cultural monument in the form of a mining dump on the property.
The intention is to use a public grant for the renovation of the existing building from the rural development support program - RL LE / 2014 and for the area of use of the local fire service, a grant from the Fire Service Promotion - RLFw guideline.
The conversion, renovation and new building costs are estimated at EUR 2.0 million (KG 300 + 400 gross).
