Traffic at the Guisanplatz junction is expected to increase due to the development in ESP Wankdorf. Since the node is already at capacity limits, measures are needed to ensure smooth operation for all road users. The relocation of the tram stop to Papiermühlestraße is intended to increase node capacity. The city of Bern is also planning a settlement drainage project in the perimeter of Guisanplatz/Papiermühlenstrasse. Urban drainage is planned in the area of the western walkway. The two sub-projects are managed as a consolidated overall project.
