With this SBIR, STOWA (Stichting Toegepast Onderzoek Waterbeheer) is challenging the market on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat and the Rhine and IJssel, Rivierenland, Vallei and Veluwe and Zuiderzeeland water boards to develop a vertical bank protection made of preferably 100% bio-based and 100% circular materials.
The goal of this SBIR is to develop bio-based and circular vertical bank protection that can compete with tropical hardwood from Asia and South America, European hardwood, and/or steel. This SBIR challenges the market to use multiple circular value streams to devise, create and install bio-based bank protection.
STOWA and partners make a total budget of up to €100,000 (including VAT) available for phase 1 of this SBIR. The maximum amount per feasibility study (phase 1) is €20,000 (including VAT).
For SBIR phase 2, the total budget is a maximum of € 200,000 (incl. VAT), the maximum amount per project in this phase is € 100,000 (incl. VAT).
The number of projects to be awarded for phase 1 and phase 2 depends on the price and quality of the best rated tenders per phase. Only the projects that have successfully completed the feasibility study can be invited to make an offer for phase 2.
