Description:
Call for participation - Appointment of design team masterplan Begijnhofsite

See II.2.4

The aim of the project is to arrive at a master plan / a global approach through a thorough examination of the site and its buildings which will form the basis for the start of the restoration of the various houses on the site.

Major restoration works of some buildings on the site of the Beguinage are required. The many complaints and defects result in an unpleasant living comfort of the entities. Not only architecturally but also physically there are major shortages. Since the latter have a major impact on the architectural aspect as well as will have a large share in the general comfort of the homes, it is important to investigate and map these matters properly. The city wishes to strive for a qualitative, sustainable approach (cf. climate target for 2050 of the city) of the homes that will greatly improve living comfort and meet today's standards of habitation. The city always wants to combine the approach with a building-historical upgrade of each home.

Before a qualitative restoration of the houses can be started, all homes must be subjected to a thorough preliminary study / analysis. From the analysis, a plan of action will have to emerge in function of a refinement of the master plan. A design team is appointed for this task.

During the thorough analysis of the entities and the plan of action of the houses, the entire site must be subjected to a redevelopment study to determine which destinations can be integrated in addition to living without disturbing the atmosphere of the site, but rather to strengthen it.

The assignment is divided into 2 phases, being:

- The execution of studies, preliminary investigations and on-site analyses of the various entities and the site of the Beguinage in order to list the problems and to formulate a sustainable approach.

- The drawing up of a master plan with the indication of the various destinations, linked to a phasing and an estimate per entity as well as per phase for carrying out the restoration.

A period of 80 working days is allocated for each sub-phase.

For a further explanation of the assignment, see specifications part IV. Technical regulations.
