The object of the contract is the SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT FOR CATALYTIC ACTIVITY MEASUREMENTS FOR THE CEPA LABORATORY (CATALYSIS FOR ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION) of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Territory, Environment and Mathematics (DICATAM). The equipment for catalytic activity measurements for the CEPA laboratory will allow to carry out catalytic activity tests in three-phase conditions (liquid, gas and solid) at high temperature and pressure. The laboratory must be equipped with a compact plant for carrying out catalytic activity tests in the presence of high hydrogen pressure, able to operate safely with reduced volumes of reagents and catalyst, in three-phase conditions (reagents and products in liquid and vapor phase, catalyst in solid phase), at high temperatures and pressures, and continuously (i.e. 24 out of 24, 7 days a week).

This particular condition requires that the system is equipped with special miniaturized components and characterized by a very high degree of automation and safety. The plant must operate safely even at high pressures (up to 100 bar), at high temperatures (up to 1100 ° C) and with different ratios between the liquid and gaseous phase (hydrogen). In particular, it will have to ensure the effective separation of the gas/liquid phase leaving the reactor under both high and low flow conditions of the gas and liquid phase. The equipment must be equipped with adequate software capable of managing operating conditions, controlling the process, measuring process variables.
The supply must be complete with a three-stage hydrogen gas compression system, consisting of compressors installed in series, with three intermediate vessels, control instrumentation useful for obtaining a constant gas flow, alarm systems and filters to avoid the presence of moisture and particulates. The compressor must guarantee flows up to 500 ml/min, with inlet gas values of 1 bar and outlet gas values of 40 bar. The object of the contract includes and compensates in the price offered, starting from the date of testing, an unlimited number of corrective maintenance (including necessary spare parts) and remote diagnostics for a minimum duration of 1 year. It also requires at least 1 day dedicated to education and training lasting eight hours. Training must be provided after positive testing. Installation, testing and training must be carried out within 60 days of delivery. The terms for the supply of the instrumentation are set at 180 (one hundred and eighty) natural, successive and consecutive days starting from the minutes of initiation signed in contradictory between the representative of the economic operator and the Director of the execution of the contract. The terms of installation, testing and training must be carried out within 60 natural, subsequent and consecutive days starting from delivery. Within the same term, all legal certifications concerning the equipment must be submitted.
the assignment of the supply and installation of equipment for catalytic activity measurements is necessary and functional exclusively to achieve the realization objectives of the PROMETH2eus research project: "PRODUCTION of green H2 from sea water through an innovative electrolyzer operating at high temperature with integration in power-to-METhanol process" (PROMETH2eus), for the Catalysis Laboratory for Energy and Environmental Protection (CEPA) of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Territory, Environment and Mathematics, fund of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) ID RSH2A_000039, in implementation of the resolution of the Board of Directors no. 111 of 18 April 2023, prot. 106450.
