The CCGs are seeking to procure a falls response service for patients across Worcestershire. Falls response services aim to reduce the demand on hospitals, ambulance services and mitigate the potential negative health outcomes associated with hospital admissions for older people following a fall. This is provided through fast access to trained staff that respond to individuals who have had a non-injurious fall and who are able to be managed within their home environment thus keeping older people independent for longer. The CCGs are intending to award one contact. The contract term will be for 1 year, plus an optional extension of a further 1 year.

This procurement is for clinical services which are light touch regime services for the purpose of the public contracts Regulations 2015 as specified in Schedule 3 of the regulations (“Regulations”). Accordingly, the contracting authorities are only bound by those parts of the regulations detailed in Chapter 3 particular procurement regimes Section 7. The contracting authorities are not voluntarily following any other part of the regulations. The procedure which the contracting authorities are following is set out in the ITT Bravo Ref 541. As the CCGs are relevant bodies for the purpose of the national health service (procurement, patient choice and competition) (nº 2) Regulations 2013 these regulations also apply to this procurement.

The form of contract will be the prevailing NHS standard contract at the date of contract award.

Bidders should note that TUPE is expected to apply to the staff of the current services and further details of this are included in the ITT documents published alongside this contract notice.
