Kvinnherad library currently has a book bus that is 7,75 metres long, 2,42 wide and max. 7,5 tons. It drives a total of approx. 12 000 km per annum. The bus has room for 2 000 media units (books, film, audio) and is run by a librarian. In autumn 2015 the bus had 35 stopping place every 14 days, where 26 of the stops were connected to schools or nurseries. The number of loans is very high, in 2015 — 32 975. The bus shall now be replaced due to wear, rust and age.

Functionality — general:

The library bus must be easy to run and have flexible and future orientated systems for meeting the functions and requirements that users currently have and will have in the future. Particular consideration will be given to good functionality. We would particularly like the bus to be quiet, easy to get books and other material in and out of.
