In the short to medium term, some of the existing refrigeration and heat generation systems will reach the end of their technical service life or will no longer be operated for technical reasons. In addition, there are increased demands on the cooling supply infrastructure of the data center located in the West Arcade. KfW is therefore planning a comprehensive modernisation of its heating and cooling supply systems, including the associated infrastructure, as well as the full expansion of the photovoltaic potential of the available roof areas, KfW's own buildings.

In this procedure KfW-2023-0049 (Lot 1), work package 3 – Replacement of cooling towers North Arcade is concerned. The replacement of the open cooling towers in the KfW North Arcade is essentially a repair measure. The focus on sustainability can be found again in the efforts to switch to a technology that minimizes water consumption and thus also the use of water chemistry.
