The state of Baden-Württemberg, as the responsible authority for regional rail transport in Baden-Württemberg, is planning to re-award transport services in the 57 Zollernalbbahn network. The contractor shall use diesel vehicles for the transport services. For this purpose, the contractor will be charged a total of vsl. 18 LINT 54 vehicles (15 vehicles for regular operation and 3 reserve vehicles) provided by the Landesanstalt Schienenfahrzeuge Baden-Württemberg (SFBW) under a lease agreement. The commissioning of the network will be vsl. for the timetable change in December 2025. The transport contract (gross contract) has a term of vsl. a maximum of 10 years until December 2035, early termination is possible from December 2031, depending on the completion of electrification measures. The scope of services is vsl. up to 2 million train kilometres p.a.
The scope of services is vsl. up to 2 million train kilometres p.a., some of which are leisure traffic. The transport services are to be provided on the following routes:
- Tübingen – Hechingen – Albstadt-Ebingen – Sigmaringen
- Hechingen – Eyach
- Hechingen – Gammertingen – Sigmaringen
- Gammertingen – Engstingen
- Balingen – Schömberg
The contractor shall use diesel vehicles for the transport services. The public transport authority intends to independently tender the stationary sales services of the network, presumably for the international timetable change in December 2025, and to make them available to the RU. The contract should provide for appropriate clauses for this purpose.
The transport contract (gross contract) has a term of vsl. a maximum of 10 years until December 2035, early termination is possible from December 2031, depending on the completion of electrification measures.
