The Ministry of Education and Research has given the Centre the task of piloting an ICT system and an organisation for a network based or "virtual" mathematics school (called DVM). The pilot will be limited to the academic year 2013/2014. There are no guidelines that the DVM shall necessarily be continued as a permanent service, but the project shall, in accordance with the Ministry's description of the assignment to the Centre, also find out how a permanent service can be designed, organised and financed.

So that the Centre shall be able to give satisfactory recommendations to the Ministry, the practical execution of the pilot and the learning this will give is to be supplemented with the necessary additional reviews. The chosen service provider shall assist the Centre with reviewing these conditions of organisational, legal and financial nature.
