The Cadwgan Building Preservation Trust is seeking to appoint an archaeological contractor to undertake a wide range of archaeological works as part of a major restoration of Cardigan Castle, Ceredigion (SN177459). The castle is a scheduled ancient monument, a Registered Park and Garden, and elements of it are listed. The successful contractor will start on site in early 2012 and all the works including reporting are likely to be completed by autumn 2014. It is anticipated that most of the archaeological work not dependent on the main building contractor’s work, such as the community excavations, will be undertaken during 2012.
