TWY A and the turnpike points at both ends of the runway will be widened in connection with the retopping, which means that ground and electrical work will also be required in addition to the actual retopping of the runway.

The contract also includes a number of other ground measures near the track, such as constructing an emergency road from the fire station, removing a number of old military road connections and parking areas adjacent to the track.

The contract will last during May-August 2024, of which the airport will be closed to air traffic w.29-30, during these weeks the contractor can work throughout the day, other weeks the work will be located during evening and night time.
