The Scheinfeld grammar school is centrally located in Scheinfeld. The school consists of several buildings of different construction years, from 1937 to 2007. The buildings to be demolished are mainly two-storeyed, some with a basement.

The plan is to completely demolish all the buildings except the refectory from 2007/08 and replace them with 4 structurally connected new buildings (components A, B, C and D). This will take place in 3 construction phases, beginning in 2018 and planned completion in 2023.

On the property there is also the sports hall, built in 1993, which is not part of the project. The former caretaker's house is located on another piece of land north of the school premises. It is being demolished during the construction phase after provisional use and the space is used for the construction of new parking spaces.

The main entrance to the high school is currently on Landwehrstrasse, between the so-called intermediate building and the Goethe building.

The planning of the new building envisages the new main entrance on the corner of Landwehrstrasse and Goethestrasse. This will be the new linchpin of the school building. From there the school streets (school corridors, approx. 2.50 m wide) extend at a right angle to the north towards the cafeteria building and to the west. In the north, the elongated building A houses the school auditorium, the music rooms, the access to the cafeteria and other adjoining rooms, on the upper floor the administration with library, teacher room, silentium room and 3 classrooms. Part A has a basement, here are the common rooms of the upper level and storage rooms. Components B and C, which connect to the west, only house classrooms. The component D forms the spatial conclusion of the high school in the west. All specialist rooms are housed in this component. The departments of Chemistry and Biology are located on the ground floor and Physics and Art on the upper floor. Component D has a full basement, here are the IT rooms and alternative rooms, as well as the technical rooms with the house connections.

The replacement buildings will be built while the school is running. The project is divided into 3 construction phases. In the first construction phase, component D is created with the new house connections and technical rooms. In the second construction phase, the class houses components C and B with 2 connecting passages to the component are created. In the third construction phase, the third connecting passage and component A are created. The demolition takes place successively in parts to the new building.
