On board the survey vehicles, the respective INS is primarily used for improved and uninterrupted position determination compared to GNSS positions and for the professional localization of measured water depths. Position data and other movement information (heading, roll, pitch, heave) are made available by the respective INS to the various hydrographic measuring systems (vertical sounder, multibeam echosounder) used on board. The respective INS is coupled with an existing GNSS receiver in order to provide highly accurate position data in the event of short-term satellite or correction data signal loss.
The scope of services includes the delivery, installation and commissioning of two INS on two survey boats of the survey vessel KOMET. The inertial navigation systems must correspond to the current "state of the art in science and technology".
