The object of the contract is the supply and installation of additional lead shielding in metal cells 251/351 and the cessation of shielding "opening" 3.

This contract will be initiated as part of the 5/22 project, which provides for the construction of Building 170X to allow remotely controlled decontamination of high-activity liquid tanks. Connected above these tanks will be constructed metal cells (cells 251/351) from which remotely controlled operations can be carried out in the tanks. The remaining sludge or liquids in the tanks will be transferred to a filtration facility before being transferred to another BP facility for treatment. The path of the transfer lines of this sludge or liquid will pass through the metal cells 251/351. Since these pipes can contain a high-activity liquid, they will need to be shielded to limit the dose rate in the cells.
