The Employer is seeking a contractor to undertake power status monitoring works which will include the following
Detailed intrusive surveys on existing electrical switchgear;
Modifications to the electrical distribution systems including the installation of various electrical components i.e. voltage transformers, current transformers, fuses, miniature circuit breakers, wiring, phase failure relays and communication meters etc.;
Modifications to the BMS systems, including extending the existing building control systems LANs to include additional BMS outstations housing controllers and configuring these over the Parliamentary Information and Communications Technology (PICT) Wide Area Network (WAN) where applicable (the contractor will likely be required to appoint a named BMS contractor to connect new BMS outstations within each Electrical Switchroom to Engineers Control; provide appropriate graphics interfaces at the BMS head end within Engineers Control);
Undertake comprehensive testing and commissioning to demonstrate successful completion of the works, including direct liaison with the local electrical Distribution Network Operator to fail the mains to each building in turn upon completion of the works;
Any works which will affect the operations of the estate (e.g. electric shutdowns) will need to be agreed in advance with Engineers Control and it is likely that such works will only be able to take place at weekends during recesses of the relevant House.
