Powys County Council’s (the Council) Waste and Recycling Services (W&R) are responsible for the collection and processing of household waste. The Council operate a kerbside sort collection service following the Welsh Government blueprint with waste streams being bulked at depots in Powys.
Located at the Brecon Waste Transfer Station is a sorting line which separated plastics and metals and baling equipment which is used to bale the individual waste streams.

The Service is seeking to appoint a supplier to provide baler maintenance services, and it is intended that an agreement will be entered into for a period of three years with an option to extend up to 12 months. It is anticipated that the agreement will commence early 2024.
