The object of the award is to carry out a study on the effects of the statutory minimum wage on hourly and monthly wages, various wage components, as well as on working hours and the volume of work. The focus will be on evaluating the increase in the minimum wage to 12 euros. For this purpose, the data from the Federal Statistical Office's Earnings Survey (VE) for April 2022 and April 2023 as well as earlier waves of the Structure of Earnings Survey (VSE) will be used. The data of the PU of April 2022 will be available in December 2023 and the data of the CA of April 2023 in mid-2024 via the RDC of the Federal Statistical Office or the Statistical Offices of the Länder. For these two survey dates, it is possible to trace changes in individual employees and companies over time (panel data).
