The new Drammen Hospital will be the local hospital for Lier, Drammen, Nedre Eiker, Røyken, Hurum, Sande and Svelvik, and it will have area functions for all of Vestre Viken. The new hospital is located at Brakerøya and it replaces Drammen and Bladstad Hospital. The site is 150 decares, and is located in the existing industrial area at Brakerøya as far as Drammenselva and near the railway station. Construction work began in autumn 2019, and full clinical operation is scheduled for May 2025. Drammen Municipality will be the builder for the the development of public infrastructure.

 The contract mainly includes the development of surfaces including some mass replacement and infrastructure. This includes, amongst other things:

- The development of approx. 500 metres of public roads with green central reserves

- Separate foot and bicycle paths

- The establishment of crossings

- Demolition work for a building of 1,000 m2

- Green areas with plants and surfaces

- The development of squares

- New lighting system including OPI channels

- Signalling plants and signs

The work in this contract requires extensive coordination with other contracts in the project. Adjacent contracts are ongoing on all sides of the construction site during the construction period. The estimated date of initiation is 2 October 2023.
