Rochdale council currently manages all of its own tree stock within parks, cemeteries, highways and open spaces.
We are looking towards utilising external providers to assist us in maintaining our tree stock in a healthy and safe condition, and as such are developing a framework agreement to facilitate the procurement of various Arboricultural operations
The Council require organisations to provide a full spectrum of Arboricultural works including tree pruning, thinning, felling and crown reduction works.
To provide an Emergency Arboricultural service during Working Hours in respect of tree maintenance, tree surgery, stump removal, temporary re-instatement of tree pits, tree pruning to be carried out next to highways, in parks and open spaces, communal housing areas, schools, cemeteries.
To provide an emergency call out service outside of the specified normal working day to respond to any tree emergency within 1 hour of being notified by the relevant authorising officer.
To provide a minimum of a two-man team that is fully Arboriculturally accredited with all relevant Arboricultural equipment including vehicle and chipper capable of processing / disposing of arising’s, and to attend out of hours call-out as directed by the Highways call-out officer.
This service may include all aspects of Arboricultural work including providing Arboricultural advice to the call-out officer in relation to making safe dangerous trees.
The Council require a number of fully qualified stump grinding contractors to undertake the removal of stumps on the highway, in parks and open spaces. These will be in a number of different surfaces i.e. tarmac, flag and grass. All arising’s to be taken off site or used to level area until permanent repair can be put in place.
