Lot 3: Washability and abrasion testerThe following tender documents, including the bill of quantities, concern the purchase of a washability and abrasion tester.
The abrasion/abrasion and abrasion resistance of coatings is an essential quality feature that must be permanently examined in the course of appropriate development work. The washability testing of various composite materials and surfaces also plays an important role in the development and application. This type of durability is, for example, an essential property of paints and coatings of a wide variety of materials (such as tiles, floors, furniture, wall paints, sanitary facilities). The wash resistance is usually tested as wet abrasion using e.g. cleaning agents.
The abrasion and abrasion resistance test is intended to reproducibly simulate daily or repeated use or stress and make it controllable. Since not all composite materials are subjected to the same stress, different tests are usually carried out with differentiated test specimens (e.g. brushes, sponges, pads or sandpaper), these sets being classified in different standards.

By means of the laboratory aircoat, the application of low to high viscosity (almost pasty) coating materials should be made possible even in only moderate quantities (laboratory scale). In order to be able to practice this with a variety of different materials in appropriate quality, a combination of an air-assisted and airless sprayer is necessary. It is indispensable in order to efficiently carry out development work on highly filled, highly viscous coating systems, to examine them also with regard to applicability and to be able to apply and characterize the coating itself.
