The Hamburg Historical Museums Foundation (SHMH) houses a permanent exhibition on the history of the city on three floors with an area of around 4,350 m² in the Museum of Hamburg History (MHG). The approximately 5,000 exhibits in the museum include objects of everyday culture such as furniture, toys and clothes as well as musical instruments, paintings, medals, guild signs and numerous (ship) models. A special feature of the MHG are historical testimonies of Hamburg's building and living culture, which date back to the 17th and 18th centuries and were used as spolia in and around the house. The MHG will be extensively renovated and modernized in the coming years. This will be accompanied by a complete redesign of the permanent exhibition. The entire exhibition areas and the museum are to be cleared by mid-2024 due to these upcoming renovation measures. For this purpose, the objects have to be dismantled, packed and transported to a total of four external locations in the Hamburg area. The aim of the measures put out to tender here is the dismantling, packaging and transport of the sensitive collection objects from the MHG to various target locations in the Hamburg area. Transport from the museum is partly via the freight elevator and the main entrance, in front of which a few steps have to be climbed. Some of the large-format and/or heavy large objects require the need for special transport during handling. Here, it is not possible to use the elevator in the museum due to the dimensions and weights of the exhibits, which is why the objects must be transported out of the MHG via the so-called staircase in the foyer and the main entrance in a fixed time window. High demands are placed on the contractors in terms of experience, expertise and technical equipment for handling the objects. All measures are to be carried out under the premise of maximum protection and the greatest possible protection of the objects and the environment.
Short:
Dismantling, cleaning (dusting), if necessary securing, packaging and transport of sensitive collection objects (spolia, ship models, large and heavy-duty objects, paintings, pre-packaged objects) from the Museum of Hamburg History to various destinations in the Hamburg area.
The award will be made in three lots.
Lot 2 is commissioned by Sprinkenhof GmbH.
Lot 1Lot 1 concerns about 12 ship models of various sizes as well as some models of rolling stock (about 6 pieces) and about 48 large models. Lot 1 contains a total of 66 models.
The (ship) models are to be removed from the showcases by the Contractor at their current location, marked, cleaned, secured, packed and transported to an external warehouse (distance approx. 10 km). In the external warehouse, some of the transport packaging is removed and handed over to the museum's collection administration. Packaging materials that are no longer needed are disposed of. The measures and transports must be documented in tabular form. The location management of the objects is done via routing slips and Excel lists.
Lot 2Lot 2 concerns about 50 spolia. These include, among other things, door leaves and frames, window sashes with reveals, two large columns and components of wooden ceilings. The spolia is used at the beginning of the performance process.
Bring already be removed and secured. The components are to be packed for transport by the contractor and transported from the museum to the external locations of the MHG (distance up to 10 km). In the external warehouse, some of the transport packaging is removed and the objects are handed over to the museum's collection administration. All measures and transports must be documented in tabular form. The location management of the objects is done via routing slips and Excel lists.
Lot 3Lot 3 concerns the transport packaging and the transport of the objects of the MHG. This includes approx. 4,500 small- and medium-format objects (at the start of the contractor's work, these are already pre-packed in Euronorm boxes and/or on pallets), approx. 300 large and heavy-duty objects (at the start of the contractor's service, most of these have already been dismantled and marked), approx. 100 large-format paintings and approx. 15 large- and heavy-duty outdoor objects. The objects are taken over by the contractor, prepared for transport and transported to one of four external warehouses (distance 10 km to 30 km). In the external warehouse, some of the transport packaging is removed, some of the objects are taken to the designated locations and handed over to the museum's collection administration. Transport packaging that is no longer needed is disposed of. Packaging materials and means of transport intended for reuse are returned to the MHG. The measures and transports must be documented in tabular form. The location management of the objects is done via routing slips and Excel list
