Specialist planning for HVAC technology in accordance with Part 4, Section 2 HOAI, work phases 1-9 for the renovation, conversion and extension of the Werner-von-Siemens School, Wetzlar
As a vocational school in the industrial-technical sector, the Werner von Siemens School is a dual partner for craft and industrial training courses and trains skilled workers and journeymen. It offers full-time school forms, vocational orientation and the acquisition of higher school leaving certificates and qualifications that qualify for studies at a university of applied sciences or university. As a European School, it offers cultural diversity, initiates intercultural projects and regularly holds meetings with European partners.
The building complex of the Werner von Siemens School was designed for 2,000 students. Currently, 1,800 part-time students and an additional 400 full-time students are taught by about 100 teachers in the various professions.
The core points of the present measure is therefore on the one hand the expansion of the available space, since the individual classrooms are not designed for an occupancy of currently about 25-30 students per class. On the other hand, the pedagogical concept has developed further in recent years and an attractive learning environment with modern learning landscapes, interspersed self-learning centres and open workshops ("maker space" for practical work as a special learning achievement) is to be created for the school.
Due to the craft branches of the vocational school, the specialist areas include, among other things, compressed air installations, extraction systems, e.g. for wood dust or paint fumes, car workshops with lifting platforms and crane systems or welding workstations, which are to be included and planned in the course of the specialist planning services.
In this context, the school complex must be upgraded in terms of energy, fire protection and accessibility and geared towards "Industry 4.0" (intelligent networking of machines and processes in industry with the help of information and communication technology).
In addition, the flood issue must be taken into account, as the building complex is located in the direct area of the Lahn, but in the area of HQextreme.
So far, no conceptual specifications have been made for the implementation of the measure. With the commencement of the planning services, the possibilities of expansion, e.g. in the area of the current attic or other area extensions in or on the existing building, as well as the formation of construction phases coordinated with the other parties involved in the planning, are to be carried out first, which are to become the basis of further planning.
To this end, it is necessary to participate in spatial concepts and usage scenarios, which are to be developed to a large extent by the object planning of the building in coordination with the client and the user and which ultimately leads to coordinated demand planning. Inventories of the sites may also be necessary for this purpose.
A space program still to be drawn up by the school will serve as a basis for determining the space requirements at the start of planning. If necessary, this must be involved if the space program cannot be made available in time for the start of planning.
On the media side, the Werner-von-Siemens School is self-sufficient and is only connected to the adjacent August Bebel School via a connecting corridor in the basement. A common heating system connects the school campus of the Werner-von-Siemens-Schule, the adjacent August-Bebel-Schule and the gymnasium on the site.
The planning services of the specialist planning of the HLS technology are awarded as a step-by-step order. It is intended to initially commission service phases 1 and 2 for the overall measure, including the defined special services for the development of a concept for the heat supply.
