Wood & carpentry large hall
The Multihalle is the largest self-supporting wooden lattice shell in the world and a monument of particular importance. Extensive renovation work is pending for the hall, for which approvals in individual cases (ZiE) and project-related type approvals (vBG) are also required due to the special nature of the project. Weather-dependent construction work makes the project very complex in terms of time and interfaces.
The following work is pending for the "large hall" section, which includes the large hall, banana and the west access tunnel:
Timber and carpentry work - damage mapping, repair and reinforcement work on the wooden lattice shell, approx. 4,500 m² roof area, replacement of 14 wooden edge beams, renovation of 25 steel columns, replacement of approx. 5,240 running metres of steel cables
This will be followed by another tender for wood and carpentry work for the small hall with the same services in March 2024.
