In Enschede and part of Haaksbergen, many meter cupboards are suspected of asbestos because asbestos felt was used in the meter cupboard during the construction of homes. In order to eliminate the risk of potential asbestos contamination when the meter cupboard is strengthened as much as possible, a new process has been established. In this process, the inspection is combined by the Enexis technician with a sampling by an Expert Asbestos Inventor (DIA). No later than 48 hours after the inspection and sampling, the samples have been analyzed and an inventory report must be digitally delivered to Enexis. Enexis then provides the inventory report to the resident who can use this inventory report to initiate the remediation of the meter cupboard if necessary.
