The competence center is intended to support the BMWi responsible for tourism and the tourism industry in implementing the tourism policy objective of increasing performance in the tourism industry. In doing so, it is geared to the federal government's responsibilities and federal interests in tourism policy, in distinction from the tasks of the states in tourism.

The main services of the contractor include:

- analysis of political, economic and social developments in tourism and in the tourism industry,

- transfer of scientific knowledge on tourism into practice,

- knowledge transfer of best practice examples for solving current and future challenges, particularly with regard to the fields of action agreed in the key points paper of the Federal Government for a national tourism strategy

- continuation, development and development of a wide range of information for the relevant disseminators in tourism,

- design and conduct specialist events,

- contribute to the industry-internal networking of all relevant actors in tourism,

- Conception of ideas for model and nationwide projects and studies and expert reports, as well as supporting the projects selected on this basis and broadly communicating on their implementation.

The service is expected to be tendered for a term 01.12.2021 - 30.11.2023.
