The client plans to convert the old Shell barrel bottling plant into a multifunctional event hall ("K714 cultural refinery"). The historic building is to retain its industrial charm, while state-of-the-art stage technology and a restaurant with a view of the Rhine are moving in. In this context, the client awards the trade VE 158 - vestibule steel-glass construction.
The trade VE 158 - vestibule steel-glass construction is part of the construction project Kulturraffinerie K714.
In the cultural refinery construction project, the steel-and-glass construction between the northern extension and the existing building forms the main entrance. It is a steel skeleton construction as a frame structure with a sloping roof surface. The underside of the cantilevered roof and the interior are clad as overhead glazing with suspended mirrored glass panes. In one part of the underside of the roof, glass panes with integrated LEDs are used. The two glass façades are planned as a mullion and transom system made of steel profiles. The outer façade is thermally and soundproofed. The inner glass façade is made of single glazing.
The details can be found in the attached building description as well as the tender documents and other installations.
