For the renovation of the Friedrich List School (FLS), 44 classrooms have to be relocated to the pioneer barracks. 16 of these can be accommodated on the top floor of the pioneer barracks and 6 on the first floor in the former rooms of the HfG archive. For the remaining 22 classrooms, separate container classes will be set up in the parking lot behind the pioneer barracks. These container classes are the subject of a separate invitation to tender.

For the school to move into the premises of the pioneer barracks, safety-relevant measures / upgrading of the technical systems as well as the energetic renovation of the building must be carried out. The rest of the building can be successively refurbished after the school has moved in.

From September 2021, the Friedrich List School will move into the premises on the 3rd floor and 1st floor in the north wing of the pioneer barracks on an interim basis. The rooms on the 3rd floor have to be energetically renovated and completed. For this purpose, the entire ceiling in the classrooms is covered with a clay module ceiling with an integrated heating cable. The building services are being renewed in the entire building.
