Fernwärmeversorgung Niederrhein GmbH operates district heating networks in the cities of Dinslaken, Voerde, Hünxe and Moers on the Lower Rhine to supply private, commercial and public customers with heat for heating buildings and providing domestic hot water. The heat is mainly provided from industrial waste heat, combined heat and power, biomass and boilers. The creation of a transformation plan is intended to show how the transformation of the heat supply up to a completely climate-neutral supply by 2045 can be made possible. The contract includes the preparation of the transformation plan together with Fernwärmeversorgung Niederrhein GmbH and its affiliated companies. The transformation plan is to be divided into the following six parts: presentation of the current state, analysis of the potential of renewable energy sources for generation, presentation of the grid development for the given base years, presentation of concrete measures for implementation, investigation of potential environmental measures and presentation of the transformation plan.
