Derry City Council, together with its partners has developed detailed proposal to establish a new GBP 8 000 000 Maritime and Museum and Archive Centre at the former military base at Ebrington, Derry — Londonderry. It will be located in buildings 45/46 and 49, all listed buildings. These will be linked with a new iconic modern extension. The proposal will include galleries, archival reading rooms and educational facilities. It is important to note at this time that Maritime Museum and Archive Centre is the working project title. An extensive branding exercise will be conducted, post funding approval.
The project vision is to ‘To develop a regional Maritime Museum and Archive that gives an international platform to the story of our maritime heritage and will ensure the preservation of the collections and greater access and engagement to the collections and heritage of the city.'
Derry City Council (The Client) seeks to appoint a Lead Consultant and Integrated Consultancy Team (ICT) to undertake the design and manage the construction of the Maritime Museum and Archive Centre.
The Project Team should include the following consultants and services as a minimum:
— Project Manager, Architect or Economic Operator as Lead Consultant;
— Project Architect with conservation accreditation;
— Quantity Surveyor;
— Mechanical and Electrical Engineers;
— Civil/Structural Engineer;
— CDM Coordinator;
— Any other consultant the lead consultant deemed necessary to complete this commission.
The Lead Consultant and ICT will be appointed under the NEC3 Professional Service Contract based on the scope of services.
