The objective of the contract is to obtain nature types data by field mapping adapted to NiN 2.0, where the purpose is to obtain a knowledge base for the area management.

The Norwegian Environment Agency professional system for data processing of nature types data, the NiN application shall be used in the mapping works.

The mapping shall be covering territories within a preliminary selected area.

The mapping will mainly be prioritised in pressure areas (i.e. areas that are relevant for development of roads, railways, power development or other development), and primarily where a range of endangered nature types are expected to be located. Near threatened nature types may also be prioritised.

The various mapping packages may be divided between several contractors. Nature types in freshwater, marine deep sea areas and marine neritic areas are on the whole not included in the assignment.
