Contract Award Notice
This Contract Award Notice follows the procurement of the Out of Hours (OOH) services and some other associated services that the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Nottingham City, Rushcliffe, Nottingham North and East and Nottingham West.
Core Principles
The OOH service must be based on the following core principles:
A patient-centred service which is simple to access
A high quality service in line with national standards and specific Commissioner Requirements.
Quality covers three specific domains:
Safety (we do no harm to patients and the environment is safe and clean);
Effectiveness (improved clinical outcomes) and
Patient Experience (quality of care and the delivery of personalised care).
Equitable, consistent access based on need (regardless of place of residence and time of night)
Efficient service and an effectively staffed service offering value for money within the service itself and in its relationship with the wider urgent care system
An urgent service, meeting needs that cannot safely wait until the following working day (where the patient can benefit from the continuity of care offered by their own GP practice)
A service that is integrated from a patient's perspective with other service providers (including social care providers), delivering seamless and effective care to patients wherever possible
A service and service provider that is flexible and able to respond to changes within the health community and the NHS in general
Ensuring effective information flows between providers to facilitate continuity of care
Of demonstrable high quality through the supply of timely, accurate and comprehensive performance reports in line with the Commissioner's requirements
