Preparations shall be made for the installation of emergency/standby power in 15 nursing homes in Bergen. For an overview of nursing homes, refer to Annex II.6. The RIE part of the project will be comprehensive with regard to complexity and scope associated with upgrading and in some cases replacement of the main power circuits and secondary circuits to adapt existing installations for mobile emergency power unit(s) or permanent installations for emergency power. The nursing homes will be fully operational during the construction phase. Where the installation of permanent emergency power will take place, here in two nursing homes, ARK in collaboration with RIE and the developer will be responsible for the design and exterior location of the unit. The applicant will also be responsible for relations with with Bergen Municipality. It is in this context that there is a need of RIB planning with earthworks and support structures for new construction, as well as certain requirements in existing buildings for adaptation and hole-throughs in the supporting structures, core drilling etc. for routing cables.

RIE, in addition to competitive tendering for electrical work and procurement of generators, also includes preparing the competitive tendering for hiring of mobile generators.
