The main objective of the activity is the development of the R+D services necessary for the development of maritime rescue applications, based on the information provided by SAR and/or V/IR satellites, which can be contrasted with the information obtained by the AIS maritime system to help interpret possible illegal actions. Specifically, it is intended to develop the necessary technology to create a prototype that can be validated in a pre-operational situation, in different operational centers of the interested Public Administration. The contracting is carried out by the CDTI in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, through the General Directorate of Armament and Material (DGAM), by virtue of the agreement signed between both entities on 4 January 2023, and published in the Official State Gazette on 18 February 2023, relating to the contracting of R+D services in the field of satellite Earth observation. The aim is to contract innovative solutions, non-existent in the market, that can solve the public needs detected by the Ministry of Defence, through the General Directorate of Armament and Material (DGAM). This procurement is carried out within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (hereinafter PRTR), approved by the Council of Ministers on 27 April 2021, and the Aerospace PERTE approved by the Council of Ministers on 22 March 2022.
