The Technical Assistance (TA) will support the executing agencies in the implementation of the phase III of the Rural Village Water Resources Management Project in Far- and Midwestern Development Regions of Nepal.
The overall objective of the support is improved public health and reduced poverty within the project working area. Project's purpose is to achieve full coverage of water supply and sanitation, and establishment of functional planning and implementation frameworks for all water uses in 9 project districts.
The Project is supporting rural WASH and livelihood schemes .Result areas and indicative targets:
Result #1: Institutionalized community capacity to construct and maintain community managed water supply and adopt appropriate WASH technologies and behaviour (234 000 beneficiaries for water supply services and 110 000 for sanitation).
Result #2: Improved and sustainable nutrition, food security and sustainable income at community level through water resources based livelihoods development (164 000 beneficiaries for basic livelihood improvement, 12 000 for irrigation, 120 000 for advanced livelihood support, 10 000 cooperative members).
Result #3: Institutionalized capacity at District level to continue integrated water resources planning and support to communities in implementing and maintaining WASH and livelihood activities.
