The building was built in several phases on a hillside. The original building in
Reinforced concrete skeleton construction with curtain washed concrete façade was completed in 1968. In 1996, a three-storey extension of additional classrooms in solid construction took place. Due to the terrain-oriented development, the building extends with three wings over a total of six floors of different sizes. The ground floor with a maximum dimension of approx. 92 m (north-south) and approx. 67 m (east-west) has the largest built-up area, which is approx. 2,250 sqm including all projections and recesses. The total gross floor area amounts to a total of approx. 6,800 sqm. The floors are accessed via three stairwells integrated into the building. To ensure the 2nd escape route, two steel external stairs have already been installed from the north wing (ground floor to 2.UG) and the premises of the west wing (2nd floor to 1st floor).
Retrofitted.
The classrooms extend over the floors 2nd floor to 2nd basement. In the 1st basement there are also the departments of natural sciences (physics, biology, chemistry). The ground floor is complemented by the teachers' rooms, a canteen with kitchen and an assembly hall that can be used for events through mobile folding walls with the large break hall.
