Based on objectives, the programme shall provide annual information of riverine inputs of nutrients and selected hazardous substances to Norway’s coastal areas, how the inputs change over time and geographical distribution of the inputs.

The inputs which are subject to calculations are from measurements in Norwegian rivers and from direct emissions downstream RID measuring points in the rivers. The inputs shall include emissions from fish farms, industry and sewage.

Inputs to the coastal areas with oceanic currents or by direct deposition on sea level are not included in the programme.
