Procurement of a high-resolution microscope with fluorescence fluctuation and expansion gel imaging capabilities

The University Medical Center Göttingen intends to perform high-resolution microscopy on biological samples in expansion gels with fluorescence intensity fluctuation, STED and FLIM image acquisition (STED = STimulated Emission Depletion, FLIM = Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy). For this purpose, the procurement of a high-resolution confocal fluorescence microscope with fluorescence intensity fluctuation imaging as well as STED and FLIM extension is planned.

The complete system must be equipped with all necessary components for the operation of high-resolution confocal fluorescence microscopy for fluorescent dyes with excitation light wavelengths in the range of 450 – 750 nm. In addition, fluorescence intensity fluctuation imaging and image acquisition must be able to be performed in STED and FLIM mode.

The vendor shall compile a list of all components used by the manufacturer for the operation of the high-resolution confocal fluorescence microscope with STED and FLIM extension, the performance of fluorescence intensity fluctuation imaging, and data acquisition, storage, and evaluation.

The device to be procured is to be installed in the building of the Institute of Neurophysiology and Sensory Physiology, Humboldtallee 23, 37073 Göttingen.

The available space is located in the basement. The usable floor space has the dimensions approx. 3.6 m x approx. 2 m. The height of the device including the service area may not exceed 1.8 m, as this is structurally limited.

In the vicinity (approx. 3 meters) from the intended installation site there is another high-resolution microscope system. Electrical sub-distribution, internet and telephone connection are available.

The room is air-conditioned and has blacked-out windows. The (screed) floor is covered with electrostatically dissipative linoleum. The part of the building has a basement.

There are no other rooms available for installation of the system. No structural measures are planned.

The bidder must submit a sketch showing the position of all components of the system as well as the required connections, etc. Shows. The installation conditions must be specified or reference can be made to the attached documents.

The installation of the device to be procured can be done at ground level. The outer door has a clear dimension of approx. 1.5 m. The transport route has a width of approx. 1.5 m. The door to the microscope room has a clear dimension of approx. 90 cm. All doors have a clear height of approx. 2 m.

The bidder must convince himself of the structural conditions on site and, if necessary, carry out (temperature and vibration) measurements in order to ensure smooth installation and functionality of the system.
