Exhibition and set construction Invictus Games 2023
The Invictus Games will take place in Düsseldorf (IG23) in 2023. The Invictus Games is a Paralympic sporting event for soldiers wounded in war, which was first held in London in 2014. In the period from 09.-16.09.2023 the IG23 will take place in the Düsseldorfer Merkur Spiel-Arena. About 500 competitors, about 250 supervisors and around 1,200 Family & Friends from 20 nations are expected to attend. The IG23 is carried out by an integrated project team from the Bundeswehr and D.LIVE, in which each institution takes over tasks of event implementation. D.LIVE is responsible, among other things, for the procurement of trade fair and set construction.
By means of a temporary room construction, athletes' changing rooms and other functional rooms of different uses are to be built. In order to allow the athletes a pleasant arrival in the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA, a "Bus Dropoff" is to be built outside the diagonal tunnel south-east. The diagonal tunnel south-east is to be designed in a friendly way. For a meeting in a pleasant atmosphere of the athletes with their accompanying Family & Friends, a Nations Home is to be built in the north of the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA.
