Sønderborg Waste A/S is part of Sønderborg Forskly A/S and is responsible for
collection and treatment of waste from households in Sønderborg Municipality and
for the operation of recycling sites in the municipality, including the treatment of waste
received at the recycling sites. Sønderborg Waste A/S is also responsible for
treatment of some occupational waste fractions covered by the direction of the municipality.
The tender includes the incineration of the following types of waste:
- residual waste from household waste collection (contract 1)
- large and small incinerator waste from recycling sites (contract 1)
- large and small incinerated waste from business undertakings in
the municipality covered by the municipal direction (contract 2)
Offers must be made on both contracts. Contracting entities are included both
contracts with one Bidder.
The tender - subsequently designated the contract - includes the receipt of
the abovementioned waste fractions in a space located at a driving distance of not more than 8
km from the junction Alsgade/Grundtvigs Alle in 6400 Sønderborg, breakdown of large
combustible waste from recycling sites and business undertakings in relation to it or
the receiving rules, transship/reading and transport of the incinerators used;
of the waste from the reception area for incinerators and incineration of the waste;
on one or more incinerators environmentally approved for the incineration of the above
waste fractions and which comply with EU energy efficiency requirements.
The tender is divided into 2 part agreements with each its separate contract:
- incineration of waste from households and recycling sites (total about 14-
16,000 tons/year
- incineration of industrial waste (total approximately 11-15,000 tons/year)
Contracting entities shall collect additional factions from the next few years
households for recycling just as the fraction small combustible is phased out on
Contracting recycling sites during 2022. This will during the contract period reduce
the quantities for combustion from the Contracting Registrar's own schemes.
Firms must be based on Section 61 of Bek No 2159 of 09/12/2020 on waste
(Waste Ordinance) by year-end 2022/23 sort the waste into different
fractions for recovery/recycling purposes. This is expected to reduce
the amount of waste for incineration from occupations during the contract period. INTO
the contract period, the legislation may be amended so that the municipal instruction of
incinerator occupational waste is repealed. Repeal of the duty of instruction will
automatically trigger a termination of the contract for incineration of occupational waste.
Sønderborg Municipality is located in Region South. The area of the municipality is approximately 496
km2 and the municipality had by 2021 about 73,800 inhabitants spread around 36,100
households.
