According to the VgV, the planning services are awarded via a negotiated procedure with participation competition in 2 successive phases. In phase 1, the applications are examined on the basis of the eligibility criteria. If more than 5 applicants are suitable, a selection will take place among these applicants on the basis of the selection criteria. Selected applicants will then be admitted to the 2nd stage (offer and negotiation phase) and invited to submit (initial) offers. In the 1st service level, the planner to be commissioned must provide LPH 1-3 within 5 months of order placement. Completion/commissioning Construction work is expected by the end of 2026. The aim of the measure is the conversion of the north wing of the former zoology of the University of Göttingen into the Thomas Oppermann Cultural Forum as a new and accessible place of dialogue and encounter between science, culture and the public. The Thomas-Oppermann-Kulturforum is to be built in the north wing of the building at Berliner Straße 28, 37073 Göttingen. Intertwined with the "Forum Wissen" Knowledge Museum, which houses the remaining areas in the so-called core building, it thus forms a structural and content-related unit. The north wing is an extension built in 1903 in masonry and is a listed building. The roof truss is a gable roof created in wooden construction with dormer. The building is completely cleared. During the conversion planning, the existing building fabric must be included in the new planning. The area of the north wing is 11050 m3 BRI and 2880 m2 GFA.

The Förderkreis Planetarium Göttingen e.V. would like to operate a scientific and cultural planetarium at the location "Forum Wissen". For this purpose, a requirement for the dome construction was formulated by the Förderkreis as of March 2021. Various variants of the planetarium are to be worked out and developed. It is important to find the ideal compromise between position, size, construction costs and cost-effectiveness. The use of the Science Dome should be barrier-free. Depending on the static conditions, the outer dome should be made of concrete or light metal.

Explanation of the type of use of the building:

The integrative concept of the Thomas Oppermann Cultural Forum brings together several thematically and formally distinguishable clusters under one roof: A biodiversity museum, which is to be housed on the 2nd floor and in the core building above the "Forum Wissen". Here, the core building has already been developed as a closed shell. Furthermore, offices for the cooperation with the dachverband Deutscher Avifaunisten, a stage space, a historical lecture hall and several smaller event rooms to be used multimodally, space for school laboratories and family activities, a culture and science dome, a cultural space region and work opportunities for the regional landscape association, further offices for various users and a café for the visitors are to be created.
