In order to maintain and improve the conservation status of the Annex IV species bats of the Habitats Directive, the Free State of Thuringia carries out a species assistance program, which is managed by the coordinating office for bat conservation in Thuringia. The contract to be awarded includes the provision of support for the bats species aid program.

An essential part of the procurement is the provision of support for this species aid program "bats" in the area of:

- the data collection as well as the organization, care and transfer of evidence data of the bat database (data management),

- advice to citizens and authorities,

- the regular education and further education of the professional public and voluntary work on relevant and current topics in the field of bat protection,

- communication with citizens, honorary and professional public,

- The organization and implementation of the action bat-friendly (central element of public relations) and the associated service offerings.
