University of Applied Sciences PXL is a Flemish public law institution with a sui generis character. The university of applied sciences currently has around 10,000 students, consists of 9 departments and offers both professional bachelor's and master's degree programmes as well as academic bachelor's and master's programs (EQF levels 6 and 7). In addition, the university of applied sciences also offers graduate courses (EQF level 5). Graduate courses are two-year practice-oriented courses where workplace learning (learning in the workplace) is central.

PXL University of Applied Sciences is looking for a digital portfolio and evaluation system that digitizes, optimizes and simplifies the evaluation of students and also provides insight into the growth of the students. The system would primarily be used in final tests, projects, internships and workplace learning. In addition, it is important that the system can be used internally (for example by internship supervisors or learning coaches) and externally (for example by supervisors in the workplace) in a user-friendly way.

The concrete actions are:

• Better stimulate, monitor and evaluate the growth of students in PXL University of Applied Sciences;

• To provide insight into the growth of students through a multimedia portfolio system;

• Enabling competence-based assessment, especially in final tests, projects, internships and workplace learning;

• Simplify the process of competency-based assessments;

• Efficiently involve external parties in the assessment process;

• Clear registration of the student's entire process (from the search for a workplace to final assessment and associated administration);

• Realize a practical mix between general functionalities and needs at the level of the training;

• Increase transparency and clarity in the assessment;

• Integrating the system into all courses of PXL University of Applied Sciences, taking into account the multitude of training disciplines/learning result frameworks/evaluation frameworks.
