As part of their activities, the Walloon Intercommunales in the water sector are obliged to meet their energy commitments or have voluntarily committed to reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions related to their activity.
They set objectives and commit themselves to:
• improve the efficiency of the operation of existing structures;
• Control energy consumption by reducing it by 2% per year, via:
• process improvement;
• optimization of the energy performance of equipment;
• the development of the use of renewable energies.
The members entrust the service providers with the mission relating to the realization of energy efficiency audits on their operating sites according to the methodology described in these special specifications. They will be proportionate, representative according to the criteria of the audit obligation of large companies, in accordance with the Walloon Decree of 26 May 2016 amending the Decree of 9 December 1993 on aid and interventions by the Walloon Region for the promotion of the rational use of energy, energy saving and renewable energies.
