In addition to the Altmain sports hall, the cultural hall and the primary school, the new building of the Grafenrheinfeld daycare centre joins the row of public buildings in Grafenrheinfeld and closes them off to the street "Am Wehrbusch". The building is a compact, two-storey and rectangular shape, which is completed with seven gable roofs lined up next to each other with a roof pitch of 30°. The building will have an inner courtyard to illuminate the foyer and other rooms, as well as an incision in the gable roof so that part of the building services can be installed on the flat roof. The façade plays with an alternation of generously glazed areas and clinkered wall surfaces. The project is planned as a KfW 40 building.
The roof truss consists of glulam rafters with overleaf at the ridge point and supports of steel angles at the eaves point. The roof truss is covered with OSB boards. A vapor barrier made of bitumen sheets is laid on top of the OSB plates, which is also intended as an emergency roof.
