Up until the beginning of 2015, Risil School was used as a lower secondary school and is currently vacated. Bjørlien primary school is situated at the same site and is divided in 5 buildings including day care facilities for schoolchildren Risil School shall be demolished and replaced with a new building that shall cover the entire requirement for school facilities for Bjørlien Primary School. It is expected an increase in the number of pupils for the first to seventh grade. The estimated gross area of the new school is 5 605 m².
The new building shall be constructed at the same spot as Risil School situated and the new building shall be facing west with a partly open sheltered outdoor area. In accordance with plans, the building shall be designed for 588 pupils.
Vestby municipality wishes to enter into an agreement regarding an engineering design group (PG) for the engineering design of the new Risil School and demolition of the existing Risil Lower Secondary School.
