University of Jyväskylä is going to acquire a sorting flow cytometer to be used in cellular and molecular studies of exercise, aging and health. The flow cytometer will be used by researchers at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences.

The instrument is intended to be used for analysis of fluorescently labeled biological samples such as cells derived from humans, pre-clinical animal models, and cell culture experiments. The instrument is required to meet high-throughput analysis, with good sensitivity and resolution to enable in-depth characterization of biological samples. As it is primarily intended for research purposes with many individual users, the instrument must allow flexibility to design custom fluorescent panels according to the needs, and to have easy user interface, start-up and maintenance procedures.
