Today, Aars District Heating is primarily supplied with heat from the waste plant (furnace 1 + furnace 2), in addition to peak supply with wood pellets and gas, as well as a smaller electric boiler.
In addition to Aars, Aars District Heating also supplies Haverslev, Suldrup and Hornum with district heating.

In September 2022, Aars District Heating offered an approx. 7 MW heat pump at an outside temperature
at 8 °C.
However, following the invitation to tender, Aars District Heating has gained some new supply options
with the utilization of surplus heat from biogas plants, and the tenderers are therefore in letter of 23.
March 2023 announced that the completed tender round has been cancelled.
In parallel with tenders for the heat pump, a tender round has been carried out for a new shredder and tenders for an accumulation tank. A contract has been signed with F.W. Pipe Technology for the accumulation tank. Tenders for the wood chip boiler plant have been cancelled, as have tenders for the heat pump.
It is not expected to be relevant to establish a shredder within the next few years.
Aars District Heating still wants to establish a new heat pump, but under changed conditions
Among other things, about the tailings and departure temperatures as well as heat capacity for the heat pump.
The present tender concerns a heat pump of at least 7 MW at an outside temperature of -1
°C. It is expected that the heat pump will primarily operate at a tailings temperature between 80
°C and 85°C
