Alta kommune shall establish a new day and work centre on the Skansen site in Skaialuft. The centre is a day offer for people with assistance requirements. The building has a gross area of 2 000 m2.

The central shall employ up to 50 users in activities comprising workshop, canteen with kitchen, media department and laundry. So called ‘bases’ shall also be established in the building, in the form of individual apartments for users with particularly reduced ability, and a sensory department that is located in a sheltered part of the building. Here there will be space for stimulating senses without interruptions from outside. There will also be necessary facilities such as toilets, changing rooms, mechanical rooms and a storeroom. The building shall also be equipped with a gymnasium hall and a fitness room.

Outside facilities shall be established such as access and parking, a sensory garden and equipment for outdoor activities.
